Students of the week are chosen depending on their character qualities at school. “Kayleigh works very hard in her classes, participates regularly, and is a person you want to have in your class and in your group.” Said, Mrs. Katherine Donelan, sixth grade, math teacher. Kayleigh Nicholaus is the student of the week in sixth grade on team two (6-2). Kayleigh is always involved during school, and isn’t afraid to ask questions whenever she is struggling. Hamish Rayner is the student of the week in sixth grade on team one (6-1). “Hamish is one of the most responsible students we have on our team. He will never miss an assignment and does what he can to get ahead in class.” Said Mr. Aaron Lense, sixth grade math teacher. The students of the week for team seventh grade team one (7-1) and seventh grade team two (7-2) are Kylie Toole and Helen Halbauer. “Kylie was chosen this week because she has been very kind to other students on a consistent basis, and has also been helpful to both students and adults in the building, as well as working hard on her academics,” said Mrs. Tracy Houston, seventh grade science teacher. “Helen was chosen because she shows great responsibility, leadership qualities, and is always a smiling face.” Said, Mrs. Stephanie Ewald, seventh grade math teacher. The students of the week for teams 8-1 and 8-2 are Madilyn McIntosh, Michael Mulligan, and Maddy Welch. Madilyn was chosen because she always shows empathy, she is very responsible, she has a great work ethic, and is very creativity,” said, Mr. John Warford, eighth grade science teacher. “Maddy and Michael were chosen because of their dependability, a strong work ethic, good behavior, a willingness to help others, and a positive attitude,” Said Mr. Kevin Neiporte, eighth grade science teacher. Overall, these students were chosen for students of the week because they all have traits that set them above and beyond during school.
